My day 1 session at PMR . . .

Summer camp is being organised in PMR IT, chennai for students of the same institution. Its being organised by Prasanna, MSP from same college. Its a innovative idea where the students get exposed to various Microsoft Technology. There wer totally 90 students registered for the session and we had an average of 75 students attending it. It was nice to see students taking interest in learning during their holidays.
It was started on 6th june and my first session was on 8th june. I was a backup for Asim who handled VB.Net. Since i was a backup i wasnt prepared to take any session and was one among the audience. The audience consisted of student sfrom CSE,IT,ECE and EEE department. So Asim started from basics of programming and OOPS. Since it was basics, it consisted of much of theory and less of demos. So to keep the session interesting I did a interaction session with the students on .Net fundas and basics. We got a good response from the students. From the feedback we learned that the they want more demos, less theory(any won would love that !!!) and more interaction. This helped us plan our forthcoming session. Rest in Next ! ! !

treat me as CORPORATE . . . ! ! !

Yipeee ! ! !
Know what ? ? ? I got placed in COGNIZANT. It was the second company to visit us. the first one was TCS. I didnt even clear the first round of aptitude test in TCS. Only few of my friends did it.
Cognizant came on 3-june. I did give a good shot in the aptitude. It consisted of three section and I did the 1&3 sections well while the verbal section was poor. The results were announced the same day evening at 7pm. Luckily my name was there.
I actually needed to hurry back to my home coz i hadto buy shirt and shoe for the interview. I came home late after purchasing and directly went to sleep. Didnt prepare anything for interview.
Next day i had a glance of DBMS and went for the interview. Went in for interview in a happy mood. I was questioned completely on DBMS(thank god studied that morning and had a decent knowledge).Actually i contradicted my own prvious answers. So as a whole the answers were average. I was also given situation and asked how would i react. I gave answer that i felt would be correct. I was not much satisfied with the answers i gave for HR and Technical and was not confident that i would get the job.
But when the results were announced and my name was there, it was a SHOCK for me. anyways thanks for the ALMIGHTY ! ! !

Session at last ! ! !

Its really a dream come true for me. I handled a session on VISTA and .NET 2005 in SRM University, ramapuram campus. It was for the second year IT department students. There was supposed to be a model exam on that day and it was postponed for the session. I would like to thanks HOD and other staff for doing the same. Only I was able it make it to the session as others werent due to unavoidale circumstances.
I started of with VISTA. I went on for around 45 minutes. Not many knew what are the features of VISTA. It was only after the session on student realized that she was not using VISTA instead was using a transformation pack. So i was happy that my session gave them some info.
Next was the .NET session. Those students had it in their syllabus the very same semester. So they know .NET in only the exam point of view and I believe they really got something useful from the session.
I got good feedbacks. Some forms were incomplete, without filling the comments and some had good comments. There was one weird comment stating that the session was too much of theory and that person dont like theory. I thought to myself that its a session and not an Hands On Lab and probably i should include more demo in my next session to make it much interesting.

After all it was my FIRST session.

Back again . . .

"AM BACK...." just like billa ajith.... i am writing blog after a very long time.... Im not sure whether i was busy all these days but i wasnt able to write my blog..... The thought of blogging was always in my mind but some how never came to execution.
Im writing this blog after a compulsion to write due to a particular reason which only one guy except me knows. So from now on im concerned to write my blog periodically (i.e) whenever there is a something to be written.

Tips for session. . .

I dont know whether im eligible to write this but still im doing it. . .

These are some tips to a MSP for a session . . .
  1. Decide on the topic that the audience don't know or they are interested in learning and avoid taking the topic which they already know.
  2. Start the session by asking how many know about the topic of the session.
  3. Depending on the numbers decide the level you are going to take.
  4. See to that the session goes interesting and listners are not bored. An special tip for this is, just put yourself in the place of the audience and find what will make you feel interesting and act accordingly.
  5. Try to make session interactive by frequently questioning the audience and allowing them question you as and when they feel.
  6. The aim of session is not only to give them an exposure to the product or give knowledge to who are interested instead also to INSPIRE others who dont have interest in technology and make them feel technology interesting.
  7. Introduce different tools available for various purpose to the students apart from the common ones.
  8. After taking session, give them the resource that enables them to work on it and maintains the interest in their mind.

Thats just my idea. . . if you have any just put forth it. . .

MSP Boot Camp. . . .

This week end i went to bangalore to attened the bootcamp of MSP. It is actually for the MSP's of south Indian and we had people from coimbatore, kerala, orissa,b'lore and hyderabad. It was organized to enable interaction between MSP's of different UG and region.
We had different sessions where we got chance to meet various evangelists and other senior professionals of Microsoft who actually had interaction with us. It is a real nice thing to hear about their experience and get tips & knowledge from them. We also had technical session on silverlight and VS 2k8. We where taught our do's and dont's. The whole tour was an highly informative one which helped me in gaining and understanding alot.

Hurray. . . .MSP
